Francesco Fulcini
Screenwriter

Read classical studies; has been a farmer, clerk, teacher of international economics and business man.
Besides “Philip Mazzei, an Italian hero for America”, he has written the story and the script for “A gun shot", loosely based on the death of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in a duel and the story and script for “H as in Helen”, a surreal police story set in late 20th century New York.
A “jazz opera” version in English of “Philip Mazzei, an Italian hero for America” was put on in New York in 2007 by the “Teatromania” company, directed by Vittorio Capotorto.

Giovanni Colognese
Screenwriter

Secretary of the Court of Appeal and professor. Has published volumes on the history and culture of the Veneto and of the United States, among which “Fare Storia” (Making History), an educational experience on local evolution, and has edited the illustrated volume “Verona in the Calcografia Cristini, XIX-XX centuries”.
He has also published various short stories: “I Piedi Neri di Borgo Roma” (The Black Feet of the Borgo Roma), “Scambio di feste” (Exchange of Festivities), “La grotta delle streghe” (The witches’ cave) and “La vera storia di Babbo Natale” (The true story of Santa Claus).
Working together with Francesco Fulcini he has written the screenplay for our film.

Michael Catlin
Screenwriter

Has written numerous screenplays for both cinema and television.
He is the founding member and editorial director for the Los Angeles theatrical company “Open at the top”.
Has appeared in numerous films both in Europe and in the U.S. and as a main character in the role of Thomas in over three hundred episodes of CBS television’s “Capitol”.
His most recent roles have seen him in “Palace of the end”, which received great critical success; “Open at the Top49th”, at the NoHo Art Centre in Los Angeles;”365 plays in 365 days” by Susan Lori-Parks, at the Ctg/Shakespeare; “West Coast premier” of Seth Greenland’s Jerusalem and the premier of “The Ghost and Ms. Muir”.

Roberto Bessi
Producer

Lecturer on “American Production” at the “Experimental Centre” and at Rome’s “Tor Vergata” University.
After graduating in Communication from London University, following in his father’s footsteps, he took up a career in production. He made his debut in Sergio Sollima’s historic swashbuckler “Sandokan”.
He was line producer for Warner Bros.’ “Ladyhawke” directed by Richard Donner.
In charge of studies at Empire Cinematograhics (ex Dinocittà), and has been involved in the production of over thirty five movies.
He produced, amongst others, the film “Fantaghirò” for Gruppo Fininvest’s ReteItalia.
Founded Buskin Film with which he has produced ten films, including “Modigliani”, with Andy Garcia, “Good Woman”, with Scarlett Johansson and Helen Hunt, “The Moon and the Stars” for the direction of John Irvin with Alfred Molina and Jonathan Pryce, “The Etruscan Mask” directed by Ted Niclau, “Sleeping Around” directed by Marco Carniti with Dario Grandinetti and Anna Galiena.
He is currently a consultant at the United Nations (Unido) for the production of institutional films.

Suor Margherita Marchione
Historycal guide

Margherita Marchione, professor emerita of Italian Language and Literature at Fairleigh Dickinson University, a member of the Religious Teachers Filippini, is a distinguished literary scholar who has devoted her life to preserving the inspiring heritage of Italian literature.
She received a M.A. in 1949 and a Ph.D. in 1960 from Columbia University, New York City. Among sixty volumes, her dissertation on the life and works of Clemente Rebora (1885-1957), a prominent Milanes poet, was published in 1960, by Edizioni di Storia e Letteratura.
No less significant are her writings inspired by the American Bicentennial of 1976. Marchione wrote many books about Philip Mazzei she re-discovers as an American Patriot, eager to promote American ideals of Democracy in the United States and Europe.

She sponsored the United States Airmail Stamp honoring Philip Mazzei in 1980, on the 250th anniversary of his birth.
Today, she is the principal advocate of Pope Pius XII (1876-1958), whose reputation she tirelessly defends against those who would marginalize and malign his role in saving Jewish lives during World War II.

Pier Paolo Scalera
Art director

Has, using every means possible, from the hand-held paintbrush to the electronic variety, created over five hundred posters for films.
From “New York, New York” to “Nine1/2 weeks”, from “Little Devil” to “Mediterraneo”, from “Johnny Stecchino” to “Il Postino”.
His creations have helped promote the works of the greatest internationally renowned directors: Argento, Avati, Benigni, Bertolucci, De Palma, Fassbinder, Godard, Herzog, Lelouch, Lyne, Monicelli, Rohmer, Salvatores, Scola, Scorsese, Rosi, Sordi, Taviani, Tornatore, Troisi, Von Trotta and Wenders.
His work has been displayed at various exhibitions amongst which his personal ones: “Il manifesto cinematografico” (The film poster), Rome; “Il cinema al muro” (Cinema to the wall), Genoa; “La pubblicità cinematografica”, Mogadishu.
Teacher of Graphic Design at the European Institute of Design and Rome’s Pantheon Institute.
Has held seminars on the subject of expression, amongst which include “Tele-confronto”, Chianciano and “Film Video-makers”, Prato.
In the corporate image sector he has created, among others, the restyling of the Fendi logo and the relative applicable code, in conjunction with London’s Minale & Tattersfield.
He is also involved in archigrafia on the subject of which he has already completed several projects in Italy.
